I mean, a lot of companies are incorporated in DE for a reason. I wonder as these companies move facilities to more non-CA states if peoples’ perceptions of foreign vs domestic vs global will change?

I wonder if there was a tax bribe - CA is terrible at that, in general.
I didn’t know Mitsu had operations there. I am sure the savings will be passed down to the consumer or will help employees lulz. Maybe the transplants will eventually make TN a bit less deplorable.

Speaking of California I get to take the California chamber of commerce online harassment training on Saturday, I’m overjoyed. That stuff is so badly presented.

Not all of Toyota’s operations moved to Texas. They still have an engineering office and design office in SoCal.

Honda had planned to relocate their HQ to Ohio, but after seeing the negative backlash Toyota got, they scrapped the plan and instead just quietly relocated a large amount of senior management to Marysville, while keeping Torrance as their official headquarters.

“ Mitsubishi today announced that they are relocating their headquarters out of California in order to reduce taxes and be closer to their wife’s parents, so they can watch the kids while Mitsubishi works. As an added benefit, Mitsubishi will have a larger kitchen to work from, and will save enough to finally get high speed internet."

I'm surprised you haven't moved yet. Doesn't seem like you enjoy California

If California tried to ‘compete’ with Tennessee in this space then it really would be a race to the bottom.
My brother and his family moved from Arizona to Tennessee a few years ago. They realised it was a massive mistake for their lifestyle and their kids education - mainly because the state was so poor it couldn’t offer much in the way of services. When the company offered them an overseas posting...they jumped. They’ve spent the last four years in Switzerland, loving the lifestyle and the kids are doing extremely well.
